Yellow Stringybark, also known as Mueller's Stringybark, is another one of those massively undervalued Victorian hardwoods found on the coastal areas of Victoria. It has made its appearance as pier pylons in the past but deserves better. Furniture, parquetry, panelling and kitchen benches are just a few possibilities.
It is a timber famed in the past for its durability. Also Yellow Stringybark doesn't mind being outside getting wet. Try using it in your next decking project, or maybe a pergola or a bridge over your own moat. And next time you light your fire, hopefully you'll feel a twinge of guilt and might be motivated to get the beeswax out and polish your logs. |
