The Tree Medium to tall forest tree. Trunk straight with peppermint-type closely fibrous bark. Crown very dense for a eucalypt, and consists of numerous narrow, dull-green or bluish leaves. Leaves rich in oil used in soap, perfume and disinfectants
The Timber Heartwood pale pinkish brown. Sapwood slightly paler. Texture medium and even. Grain interlocked. Gum veins common.
Seasoning Difficult to dry without collapse and shrinkage
Durability Heartwood moderately durable. Sapwood susceptible to lyctid borer attack
